How would you react to something unorthodox in an orthodox society, some sort of unconventional behavior in a highly conventional environment? Coming to the point, there is a multitude of things that are considered a taboo in a holy country like India. Needless to say, India is very strict about its rules concerning our clothes, that ‘socially-accepted behavior’ and our traditions which we are bound to follow.
Sex is considered to be a biggest taboo in India. Although being a land of Kamasutra, we Indians like to restrict the topic of sex within the four walls of our houses. Exposed in our extreme hypocrisies, we have a certain image of women folk in our minds. If a woman ever tries to flout those ‘rules’, she is considered to be a slut- of a loose character.
One such experiment exposing the hypocrisy of Indian men is performed in this direction. Not only Indian men, Indian women too are very critical of bra-straps showing off in public. They take it to be a wardrobe malfunction, that a girl doesn’t know how to wear clothes the right way, that she is a slut, and what not.
The guy asks, “Why do girls like showing their bra-straps?” The first girl took the question very sportingly. And confessed some of the deep, inner fantasies of a woman. She candidly replied,“Because they wanna show the color, and they want the boys to get impressed.”
