Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Raees. She will play the lead actress opposite Shahrukh Khan. However, her attitude towards India was not always cordial. Recently her old video criticizing India surfaced on the Internet. Mahira Khan insulting India in this video is very heartbreaking. It was recorded during an old interview.
Mahira became popular among Indian audience with her superhit Pakistani daily soap, Humsafar.
But the situation went grim after the Uri attacks. Pakistani artists were targeted and threatened to leave the country. They were banned from many Indian movies. Moreover all the Pakistani shows featuring on Zindagi were banned.
Many Pakistani actors and actresses spoke in their defense and their country. However, none of them criticized the destruction caused in Uri attacks.
Mahira Khan too shared a video asking for peace between the two countries. But that was indeed a calculative move on her part for Raees.
The difference in attitude towards India could be seen in the video. She is not only taking a dig at Bollywood but also dissing India altogether.
“Aapko India se inspire nahi hona chahiye. Bilkul nahi. Hum Bollywood nahi hain,” she said.
While most of the Pakistani actors find it best to remain silent on the issue, this old video shows Mahira speaking blatantly about India.
Recently a Twitter handle that goes by the name Sonam Mahajan, shared this video from a chat show on the micro-blogging site.
She urged Indias not to watch the movie. And her claims are absolutely right. She tweeted along-
“Views of our patriotic Raees’s Pakistani co-actress Mahira Khan about India and Bollywood. Plz sell your self-esteem before watching Raees.”
