Sunil grover aka gutthi or dr mashoor gulati is one of the famous faces of Indian television. He is popularly known for his wonderful performance in Comedy Nights with Kapil along side Kapil Sharma.
The famous stand up comedian is always caught up in controversies. Recently, he was in limelight for a rumored feud between kapil and him as he refused to promote his film on his show.
Soon, Sunil is also going to officially enter the film industry with ‘Coffee with D’ like his fellow actor, Kapil.
However, later Sunil made it very clear that nothing of that sort ever happened. And kapil has no qualms in promoting his movie. It will be given a 5 minute slot in the midst of the show.
Now again, Sunil is surrounded in controversies. But this time for a completely different issue.
According to sources, now Sunil himself is refraining from promoting his film.
He was even rumoured to have written an open letter to PM modi for arranging a meeting with underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim.
The rumors go as far as to state that he requested the PM to expedite Dawood’s trial for for his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
However, he slammed them as rumors.
Sunil Grover denies having written such a letter to the PM ever.
“I never wrote that open letter to Modiji. Anyone who knows me would know that it isn’t my language at all. The film’s makers released that letter without my consent,” he said.
Sunil had some creative differences with the makers and is more refraining from promoting the movie in any way.
When asked the reason he promptly replied,”
It’s very simple. I haven’t been shown the film. I don’t know what the content is. I asked the producer-director Vishal Mishra repeatedly to be shown the film, and he kept saying I’ll be shown the film. But eventually, he didn’t show it to me. Aaj-kal–aaj–kal mein waqt nikal gaya (Time just went by). Now it’s too late.”
The movie is a satire on dangerous underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim(as the name suggests Coffee with D) and hit the screens today.
