10 Of The Most Dangerous Roads That Might Give You A Heart Attack

For thousand of years, roads have provided us the safest and most efficient way to travel. But this is not always the case. While some of the roads are traveled more often, others are rarely explored. Here is a list of the most dangerous roads. They are either manually constructed or covered with water or sand. These roads test the courage and driving skills of the driver.

1. North Yungas Road, Bolivia

This road is also known as the “Road of Death” in  Bolivia. It is legendary for its extreme danger and the Inter-American Development Bank named it as the “world’s most dangerous road”. According to the estimations, 200 to 300 travelers are killed yearly along the road.

2. Jalalabad–Kabul Road, Afghanistan

This road is a 65 Kilometer stretch of highway from  Jalalabad to Kabul. The combination of narrow, winding lanes which is 60 metres high and the reckless Afghan drivers who tries to overtake the bulky trucks,.

3. James Dalton Highway, Alaska

Although the road appears serene, it is covered with potholes and with small flying rocks carried by fast winds.

4. Karakoram Highway, Pakistan

The Karakoram highway also known as the friendship highway is the highest paved international road in the world. The highway connects China and Pakistan across the Karakoram mountain range, through the Khunjerab Pass.

5. Guoliang Tunnel Road, China

The Guoliang Tunnel is carved through a mountain in China. This road was hollowed out of the side of a mountain by several villagers of Guoliang.
