Bollywood Movies are incomplete without songs and dancing. Dancing is such an important part of Bollywood movies that Bollywood dance form is a separate dance form in itself. But how often have you noticed the background dancers? Maybe never.
Any dance routine of a film is incomplete without the background dancers. If actors are heart of a film, then background dancers are the soul to the songs.
There was a time when the director used to pick up random dancers to dance at the background. However, this is not the case now. Bollywood industry has undergone a drastic change and so has the background dancers. Since then, background dancers have come a long way. Now trained dancers are called to dance at the background.
If you remember Devdas’s popular song ‘Dola Re Dola’, it had all trained dancers behind Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit. Or if you have ever watched Urmila Matondkar starer Rangeela you would have noticed the professional dancers there. It was the first time when Bollywood had trained dancers as background dancers.
